Worldwide stage for education. Are you looking for contact with international Handel specialists? The International Scientific Conference attracts scholars and speakers from all over the world. Inspired by the annual Handel Festival, a musicological aspect is the focus of the lectures, discussions and round tables.

The Handel Festival in Halle an der Saale in 2023 will be held under the motto “The Opera: Dispute over Tweedledum and Tweedledee”. The quotation from a poem in a London journal of 1725, which refers to the competition between the opera composers Giovanni Bononcini and Georg Friedrich Händel, is intended to accentuate the fact that opera has always been the subject of disputes in which cultural-political and artistic interests have been intertwined.
